Yellow Figure Bending Among Cacti/Desert Landscape

I made this artwork thinking about all the ways we bend in submission to others and society. This artwork can have multiple meanings and I encourage you to interpret  it, it's what you bring to the image. For me, she is impaled by the phallic cactus. Plain and simple but yes, grotesque. She crawls in submission with a pleasant look on her face, because what else can she really do? The happy colors belie the undertone of a darker message. OR, she is a dominatrix and has complete control of the situation? Who am I to say, really?

I scan my original artworks at very high quality and they are printed on Archival Matte Paper. The print was made to match to the original illustration colors as close as possible.
